Therapy with Bex

Hello, I’m Bex.

I am a Humanistic, Integrative Therapist based in Brighton working online and face to face in and around East and West Sussex.

I offer a compassionate, active and affirming space where you can untangle the thoughts and feelings that may feel overwhelming.

How I work

My practice is rooted in Humanistic and Integrative therapy. Which means i tailor our sessions to suit what you need, drawing on different modalities and tools. Whether you’re  feeling anxious or depressed, bereaved, exploring your identity, processing emotions, or seeking clarity on something in particular.

I’m here to help you navigate what’s going on for you, with warmth, acceptance, authenticity and care.

It’s important to me, to meet you where you’re at. Just as you are in the present moment.

Whatever is going on for you, whether you’re feeling stuck, at a crossroads in life, grieving,  stressed, low confidence, family issues, exploring  an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, and what it means for you,  navigating your identity, or a relationship breakdown.

I can help you untangle how you feel, to better understand and accept yourself.

Tools

Navigating life’s challenges is hard. It’s like riding a wave, we have ups and downs. Sometimes we want to reflect on our current coping strategies and see if we can add more tools to our tool box of things that support us.

I  am also trained in Radical Self Care, which is a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness which is about cultivating a kinder and more self-compassionate view of ourselves and others. And MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). We can explore tools to support you in accepting difficult emotions.

I am qualified to work as a Domestic Abuse Trainer (VAWG) and have a background in working in the Domestic Abuse sector. I have a background as an educator and arts practitioner; working with Queer youth and LGBTQIA+ adults, people from refugee backgrounds, people with neurodiversities (ADHD, Autism etc) and disabilities and people who have been bereaved by suicide.

Over 20 years of experience working and supporting people in a person-centred, compassionate and non-judgemental way.

I am trauma informed, intersectional, inclusive practitioner, having worked in mental health, children & youth services, education, arts and health & well-being sector.

I enthusiastically welcome people who identify with Gender, Sexual and Relationship, Diversity (GSRD) and people from the LGBTQIA+ community.
